Summary: the STC app does not require an account, and does not collect, store, or share any personal information from its users. It only displays public information — states, councils, events, and news — retrieved from our servers.
STC (Science & Technology Councils) is a free public information app that brings together information from India's State Science & Technology Councils, including their events, news, and activities. This Privacy Policy explains how the STC app and its companion website/admin services handle information.
The STC mobile app does not require you to sign in or create an account, and does not ask you for any personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, or location. The app does not include analytics, advertising, or tracking software of any kind.
When the app loads content, it makes standard network requests to our API to fetch public information (such as council details, events, and news articles). These requests do not include any personal or device-identifying information beyond what is technically necessary to deliver the response.
Like most web services, our servers may temporarily record standard technical logs (such as IP address, request time, and requested page) for security, troubleshooting, and operational purposes. These logs are not linked to any personal identity, are not used for tracking or advertising, and are retained only as long as necessary for those purposes.
Since the app does not collect personal information, we do not use, sell, rent, or share personal data about app users with any third party. Any information displayed in the app (council details, events, news) is public information published for general access.
STC does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because no personal data is collected from any user, no additional data is collected from children under applicable age thresholds.
We take reasonable measures to protect our systems and the public information they serve. As the app does not collect personal user data, there is no personal user data at risk of exposure through the app itself.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app or applicable law. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
